;

Calling on the Name of Christ

Description

Do you think too casually about the implications of calling on the name of Christ?

"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."  Romans 10:13

The brutish Romans forced people to declare, “Caesar is lord!” Those who refused often perished. To call on Christ’s name for salvation rather than Caesar’s could be costly for Paul’s immediate audience. Today we’re tempted to think too casually about the implications of Christ’s name. Yet there is an empire of darkness that wants our allegiance. Calling on the name of the Lord is declaring that our heart belongs to the Kingdom of God. When we salute the banner of His name by confessing Christ’s Lordship, we are saved from the cruel empire.
