Zaatari opened as a temporary settlement for refugees, but has since turned into a permanent fixture of the landscape with a population of more than 80,000 persons.
Many children there must work to provide for their families. More than 2.8 million Syrian refugee children are not in school. Many haven’t attended classes in years because of the five-year conflict in their homeland.
