Bound for School

Catheryn smiles as she shows how she carries her water jug on her head on her way to school.

Catheryn’s jug is slippery and round, so it’s hard to hold. A clever mom made straps for it by unraveling threads from a feed bag and weaving them into rope.

In sub-Saharan Africa, 319 million people in lack access to improved sources of water. Women and children average a 6K walk (3.73 miles) each day to bring home dirty water. They have no other choice.

World Vision’s Global 6K for Water is a May 6 run-walk that you can do in your own hometown to bring clean water to kids like Catheryn. Sign up today.
