“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus.” (Hebrews 10:19, NIV)
Rights and privileges come through various channels – as part of family inheritance or birthright, reward or free gift, response to a simple request, or the result of hard work and disciplined effort. The Bible talks about “Blood rights.” We have all heard the expression, “Blood is thicker than water.” Yes, blood carries special privileges, rights and guarantees even responsibilities.
As Christians, the Bible tells us we have rights and privileges that were established on the cross, because Jesus shed His blood to atone for our sins. His blood is unique, one-of-a-kind, and the most precious substance known to heaven and earth.
As He died on the cross, He spoke to heaven and earth and proclaimed, “It is finished.” He ensured that we would have certain rights and privileges. His blood paid the ultimate price for us before God. The charge for all of our past, present, and future sins was stamped “Paid in full.” His blood: (1) gave us everlasting life (2) purchased mercy and forgiveness (3) provided reconciliation and redemption, healing and deliverance (4) produced a thorough cleansing from sin (5) served as a model of obedience and faithfulness (6) guaranteed God’s provision, favor and protection (7) enabled the blessing and anointing of God to come upon us (8) provided a way out or escape from every messy and painful situation (9) defeated Satan and the forces of darkness (10) broke open the gates of hell (11) conquered death and destruction (12) ensured that every Christian could have access before the throne of God. These are your rights and privileges as a Son or Daughter of the Most High God. They are your rights and your inheritance guaranteed by the blood of Jesus on the cross.
Child of God, proclaim and confess these blood rights over your life today. Jesus paid the ultimate price for them. They are yours. Don’t let the promises of God, paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ go to waste!
Lord, thank you for your love, mercy, and grace. Jesus, I stand in awe and am humbled by your sacrifice. Your blood paid the price for reconciliation, redemption, restoration, healing, deliverance, abundance and wholeness. Your blood has spoken. Through the blood of Jesus and in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
