Blessed Surrender

Description

God faithfully does more in us than we could ever ask or imagine or guess or request in our wildest dreams!

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us—his Spirit deeply and gently within us. (Ephesians 3:20, MSG)

There are times when I look at my life and I am absolutely overwhelmed with God's provision and blessing. I remember the days when I had my own plan for my life. I thought I was in control of my life and I had it all figured out. Then, I became a Christian and little by little, I started to surrender control of my life to Christ. Initially, giving up control seemed a bit frightening. Through the years, one decision at a time, I've grown to understand that when I give up my plan, God does far more that I could ever imagine!

That does not mean that life is always easy.  It does mean that after years of waking up and asking God to be in control of my days and to lead me by the power of His Holy Spirit, I look back over decades now and am utterly astounded by His amazing leadership and provision in my life. He truly can do anything!  He faithfully does more than we could ever ask or imagine or guess or request in our wildest dreams! The part I've come to treasure the most is that He does it by the power of His Spirit deeply and gently within us. It is only by abiding in Him and following the gentle leadership of the Holy Spirit day in and day out that we eventually arrive at a point in life where we stand amazed at all He's done in us, through us and for us.  As we relinquish control, lay our plans down at His feet and abide in Him, He is faithful to lead us. I can say from experience, better is one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere!
