Description

At his home in Peru, Yoel, 14, loves to read his Bible.

One of Yoel’s favorite verses is Matthew 24:35: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away (NIV).”

Yoel received the Bible from World Vision through his local church. Each member of Yoel’s family has their own Bible, thanks to World Vision.

Yoel’s family considers their Bibles vital to their faith journey. They talking excitedly about their favorite verses.

Yoel’s mother says that they are a different family since they started reading their Bibles.

Faith has transformed them in a way that is evident to their community and neighbors. Joel’s father overcame alcoholism, and the family started a new chapter after being involved with the World Vision's Channels of Hope, a program through their church that teaches Jesus’ approach to relationships.

World Vision also trained Yoel’s family to raise and sell guinea pigs, which is much more profitable than their previous occupations.
