Better than Before

Description

God takes us out of difficult, oppressive places and put us in a position that is better than when we got in that place to begin with.

Exodus 3:21-22 (NIV®)

“I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed. Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians.”

The Israelites had been slaves in Egypt for many generations when God spoke to Moses and told him it was time to set His people free. In order to make their captors happy for them to leave, God instructed Moses to “plunder the Egyptians.” This wasn’t just deliverance; the Egyptians would pay them to get out of town! That’s a God-sized miracle. God’s deliverance in your life is not just an escape. He will take you out of a difficult, oppressive place and put you in a position that is better than when you got in that place to begin with. God is powerful enough to make a difference in our lives, and that’s why we worship Him.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a mighty God, a loving God, a God who stands ready to deliver Your people. Thank You for the deliverance You have given to me, even when I’ve been in bondage of my own making and could see no future. Thank You for the good plans You have for me, Lord, and help me to fulfill them. In Jesus’ name, amen.
