Belief in God

God is still searching for people who will trust Him.

Ezekiel 22:30 (NIV®)

“I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. “

Ezekiel was one of the Old Testament prophets who delivered God’s perspective to the people. God is saying through Ezekiel, “I looked for someone in the nation who would stand up on my behalf.” God has always searched the earth for men and women who will believe in Him. Not believe about Him -- believe in Him, stand up for Him. And the wonderful story of Scripture is that, in the overwhelming majority of the generations, those people emerged. But in Ezekiel’s generation, God says, “I couldn’t find anyone.” God is still searching for people who will trust Him. What are you aspiring to be? What are you striving to accumulate? I want to invite you to make a decision in your heart to be one of God’s people—not a churched person, not a polite one. When somebody thinks of you, let it be said, “That person really stands up for their belief in God.”

Heavenly Father, I want to live in a way that honors you. I choose to turn away from anything that hinders or diminishes my faith. May Jesus become a greater reality in my heart than ever before. Grant me a willing spirit and the humility to follow Your plan for me, even when it seems unclear. In Jesus’ name, amen.
