Become a 3 Year Old Today
Read: Ephesians 3:2
Three-year-olds have unbelievable imaginations. Brown bears and wolves live in the backyard; stuffed animals carry on coherent conversations, and a cape can make them as strong as the strongest super hero. Just as much as they imagine, they ask questions about everything. They imagine, they ask, and they trust. They jump into a parent’s arms with complete trust—-no holding back, no over analyzing.
Three-year-olds look at the world with wonder, excitement, hope and anticipation. How similar is our view of the world? Most adults see the world as cruel and unjust. Many view God as distant, harsh and unfair. Maybe we feel like God has given up on us. Maybe we feel like we’ve failed so badly so many times that He could never love us. But the Bible tells us in Ephesians that God is “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”
We can learn a lot from three-year-olds when it comes to believing in the Lord and what He can do in our lives. We must believe in the impossible that God can do. We can’t begin to know everything to ask of God because He loves us more than we can comprehend.
Let us look at each new day with wonder, excitement, hope, and anticipation. Let us view our God as the greatest of super heroes who can rescue and redeem anyone from anything. When ask God for things and dream about the future, remember that He can do even more! Nothing we do or don’t do changes God’s love for us. So we move forward knowing God can take our mistakes and do more with them than we could ever ask or imagine.
