Be Strategic
Description
Proverbs 10:14
Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.
A mom needs to be wise in all her ways. Wisdom is a mother’s friend and she should ask daily for God to give her wisdom to know how to parent her children. When a mom is teaching and training a child, usually a child will push back, say no, or disobey. A wise mom will learn how to encourage, motivate and educate the child on the way things should be done. A foolish mom will spew out threats that she will not be able to enforce and loose credibility instantly.
If you want to be an influential mom, then say what you mean and mean what you say. A child can detect when we are bluffing as moms, so don’t throw out a rash statement if you are not going to be willing to follow through. If you, as a mom, see stubbornness rising up in your child, be wise in approaching that child. Choose your words wisely. Think to yourself, “can I make my child do what I am asking?” If the answer is no, then try another approach. Sometimes when we see a child digging in their heels on a situation, the best thing we can do is to take a step back and pause. It is better to pause and gather your senses than to rush in and be ambushed. Remember, it is a journey.
Prayer
Father, Give me wisdom and knowledge concerning each of my children. You created my children, therefore, teach me how You wired them. Lord, give me discipline to close my mouth and not to spew empty threats that do not work. Help me to be consistent and to mean what I say and the courage to follow through with my discipline. Give me love and determination and fill my mind with wisdom in parenting these children You have blessed me with.
