Be Still

Description

Each year always seems to bring such busyness. In the midst of it all, God calls us to be still and to know that He is God.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth (Psalm 46:10).

Each year always seems to bring such busyness. In the midst of it all, God calls us to be still and know that He is God. Being still can seem counterintuitive when there is so much to do. Truthfully, when we take the time to be still in God's presence, we receive ALL we need to face the day ahead. He gives us hope, strength, wisdom, right perspective and much more. When we cease striving and focus on knowing Him, we take our rightful place. We experience the peace that comes from knowing that He is God (not us)! He replaces our goals and agenda with His. He is to be exalted (not us)! We realize that ultimately, He will be exalted among the nations and in the earth. That realization gives us hope in facing whatever each day may bring.

Instead of jumping headfirst into the new year in your own strength and with your own agenda, take time to be still before the Lord. Ask Him what He desires to accomplish in and through you this year. Everything changes as we cease striving and quiet ourselves before the Lord. Be still and know that He is God. I promise, you won't regret it!
