James 4:7-10 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
Let’s face it people, we’ve got problems. We’ve got problems with our families, we’ve got problems with our jobs, and we’ve even got problems with our hair; so why do we pretend that we don’t? Why do we pretend that we’ve got it all together and put our noses up in the air to prove it?
Be real. Be real with yourself and be real with God. And when you do, you will be humbled. You will realize that you (and me, by the way) are in need of some help, you are in need of some strength, you are in need of a Savior.
