Avoiding Absolutes

Pastor Jon Enter addresses ways we speak to each other that often fuel fights. Absolute statements, often combined with you statements -- as in, "You never help me" or "You always act that way" -- put the person being addressed on the defensive, and don't do anything to encourage peace and mutual edification. If you must use an absolute statement, make sure you always do it in a positive manner and never to accuse somebody.
