At a Loss

God is the ultimate Creator of our children and He alone knows all the answers concerning them.

Daniel 2: 18

He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men in Babylon.

The mind of a child can be a mystery at times for a mom. So many times we have these thoughts: "What is the reason behind this behavior? Is this a phase? Where is this rebellion coming from?" Usually when we find ourselves in this season, we go to our parents, our friends, doctors, or counselors to ask for advice, but maybe we should start by going to God. God is the ultimate Creator of our children and He alone knows all the answers concerning them.

You may not hear God’s voice directly, but start with taking your concern, your questions or your frustrations to God and asking Him for His wisdom and His answer to your child’s issue. So many times in parenting we realize we don't have the answer we are searching for and we just need complete dependence on God and to trust in Him concerning our child. Have you pleaded with God over the issue you are struggling with concerning your child?  Have you asked your friends/family to pray for this issue as well? Keep an open mind as God directs your path.

Father, I admit that half the time as a parent I'm not sure what I'm doing and I don't have the confidence I need to carry out my role as a parent. But, God, I acknowledge today, that my confidence does not need to be in myself, but it needs to be in You! Help me to seek You out before anyone else and to be open to Your will for both my life and my child’s life.
