Are You Tithing?
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. "Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it" (Malachi 3:10).
The word “tithe” means a one-tenth part of something. God commands us to bring the first tenth of whatever we earn to the “storehouse”, that is, the local church, the only thing that Jesus Christ created on earth. Often our reaction to that is, “I can’t commit to that; I have too many other things I am struggling to afford”. But God promises to bless us by “opening the very floodgates of heaven”.
Choosing to bring the tithe is about trusting God’s way, not only for what we have by way of financial resources but also trusting that He will bless us—tangibly and intangibly—in ways we cannot imagine. Ask God to cause us to put our trust in His plan.
Commit to tithing to the local church.
