I always knew I wanted to be a mom. I just didn’t know how much of a weird mom I was going to be.

It probably would have surprised me 20 years ago to learn that I really don’t like:

……kids’ movies, Frozen excluded (who doesn’t love that one, please)

……kids’ birthday parties, I’d rather have bamboo shoved under my fingernails.

……making dinner, I love to cook, right?

But as Laurie Wallin states in her new book, Your Weirdness Is Wonderful, I’m wonderful. Weird. Wacky, even.

In today’s culture, I’ve decided that I’m even more weird than I thought. It’s hard not to be when you seem to believe something that is not celebrated by every media source or you are the only one doing it.

I mean — really. Movies, television, most of the internet is not streaming images of a married mother of four.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see this trailer at the movie theatre…(cue the Wonder Womanesque theme music)

Hiding behind the wheel of her four door car. Even without Pinterest perfect make-up and snappy shoes, she can shape an entire family culture on what she serves for dinner.

Whew! And I didn’t even include that I always like to watch Wheel Of Fortune to see people win money. Now THAT would have been weird.
