Are You Living for God's Purpose?

Description

There are many opportunities to pursue God's purpose for our lives. One of the biggest is by serving others through the local church.

“Therefore for do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin…” Romans 6:12-13

THINK

The Bible warns us about the dangers of giving in to our “evil desires,” because as James tells us, they give birth to sin. And the wages of sin, we read elsewhere, is death. But God has much more in store for us than a life of evil desires, sin, and death. God wants us to experience hope, purity, and life.

We experience this kind of existence by offering our bodies (our entire being) for God’s purpose. Does that mean we will never struggle with sin? No. But by committing ourselves fully to God’s purpose for our lives, we overcome the reign of sin and instead discover the power of God.  How are you living? For your desires? Or for God’s purposes?
