Are You Guilty?

Description

Are you guilty of the sin of betrayal? Not just betraying another person, but also your Lord?

If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were raising himself against me, I could hide from him.
But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship as we walked with the throng at the house of God. PSALM 55:12 – 14

Are you guilty of the sin of betrayal? Not just betraying another person, but also your Lord?

You and I betray Jesus when we call ourselves Christians and yet give our hearts to money, or to selfish pursuits, or to anyone or anything other than fully to Him.

We betray Him when we spend more time on the Internet than in prayer. We betray Him when we spend more time reading the news than reading the Bible. We betray Him when we exercise our spiritual gift, not in a way that serves Christ and His body, but in a way that serves ourselves.

If you’ve betrayed Jesus, pray, “Jesus, I’m so sorry I’ve betrayed you. Please forgive me.” First John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” You are forgiven! Go … and sin no more.
