Romans 15:13 (NIV®)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I think one of the reasons the church struggles in our culture is that we are not the influence God created us to be. We have put our hope in the same things that the world has put its hope in. We’re rattled and shaken, and we see our dreams breaking apart when the things that shake the world touch our lives. The invitation of God is to let our hope rest on something more certain, to put our hope in Him―in His Word, His name. As Christians, our future is anchored to something different than people who don’t know the Lord. God is our hope, and He is faithful.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the hope I find in You. Holy Spirit, fill me with joy and peace as I trust in the unshakeable Almighty God, the Creator of the universe who was before all things and who holds all things together. In Jesus’ name, amen.
