Amazing Turnaround

Claudine is thriving. But it hasn’t always been this way.

Her hair was grey. Her body was swollen, making it hard for her to walk. Cesarie, her mother, spent her last penny on treatment for her daughter.

“I was about to give up,” Cesarie says.

In despair she turned to World Vision for help, expecting the answer to be more doctors, better medicine.

Instead, she was introduced to a group in her village in Burundi that raises soybeans and converts them into nutritious soymilk. The milk is “an amazing solution to malnutrition,” says World Vision community developer Elysee.

After three months of better nutrition, 8-year-old Claudine’s weight had nearly doubled, her hair was black again, and her swollen body was back to healthy size. She’s thriving.

Claudine’s family is thriving, too. They grow soybeans and produce milk for other children.

Child sponsors and donors change lives for children in need.

Together, we are greater than malnutrition.
