1 Peter 5:7 (NIV®)
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
God cares for you. It’s in the Book—the one that has “Holy” on the spine. The eternal, unchanging, authoritative Word of God says that God cares for you. Many of us spend considerable portions of our lives wondering if anyone cares. Perhaps your childhood was less than perfect. Maybe your parents had a difficult time expressing affection or affirmation. Perhaps you invested emotionally in relationships that didn’t turn out as you had hoped they would. The next time you’re disappointed because someone doesn’t care about you in the way you wish they would, and that question explodes in your heart―“Does anyone care for me?”―say out loud, “God cares for me. I matter to Him.”
Heavenly Father, I know that Your love and concern and compassion for me is far beyond what any human can express. The word “care” seems so inadequate. Thank You for Your love that is beyond what I can imagine or understand. Thank You that although the people and things of this world may disappoint me, You will always be faithful. In Jesus’ name, amen.
