Already Qualified

If Christ is in you and you are in Him, then you are qualified to do great works of God. Now.

Deep down inside, we want to do great works of God. We look at those who have, and their experiences stir up a longing to go where they have gone with him. But most of us have an annoying voice inside that assures us we aren’t yet qualified. It says the great works of God are for great people of God, and surely we don’t measure up.

Silence that voice. If Christ is in you and you are in him, you are qualified to do great works of God. Now. It doesn’t matter how you’ve failed in the past or how far you think you have to go. Discipleship isn’t about you. Well, it isn’t primarily about you. It’s about him, and he’s enough.

Nothing, other than our self-perception and limited faith, is keeping us from experiencing God fully and freely. He is not waiting for us to become qualified. We are cleansed, equipped, and empowered. He may keep us waiting for specific assignments, but he is not holding back his presence, power, and love. We can walk in them as soon as we get up and take steps into the direction of his calling.
