All Washed Up!

Description
Everyone could use a good washing! And that is what the Holy Spirit has done for us when we have become believers. Paul the Apostle described what happened to us because of Christ, and how it happened through the Holy Spirit. Paul told the Corinthian Christians that they suffered from all types of addictions before they became believers, commonly of alcohol and sexual addictions. Then he described the changes that being saved brought.
And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God (1Corinthians 6:11).
The washing refers to what the Spirit of God did to our human spirit, cleansing us so that we can experience the Spirit's ministry. We were also set apart or sanctified by the Spirit. That means we became the property of God. All of this was done in the name or the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, but the active ministry was performed by the Holy Spirit. What does this mean to us practically? It means that we are ready and able for an active and open relationship with God the Father right now. We don't have to become a different person because the Holy Spirit has already made us different.
