After the Flood

Description

In Malawi and Mozambique, at least 200 people died and more than 200,000 were forced to evacuate during January 2015 because of high water and damage to their homes.

Extreme rains and flooding damaged houses, bridges, roads, and crops in Southern Africa. These historic rains also destroyed irrigation systems and robbed farming families of their crops and livestock.

Faced with the loss of everything they owned, many families camped in schools or under tarps, in need of food, water, sanitation, and basic household items. Recovery will be a lengthy process.

Please pray for those who have suffered losses, that they will have what they need to recover.

“Dear Lord, many families and communities that already faced poverty and malnutrition have now lost everything. Help them, as they begin again, to have courage and faith, and to know that your will for them is to enjoy fullness of life.”
