Accidents happen, people tell us, and we know it's true. It isn't just that we drop things or bump into something. At times we "bump" into other people: emotions come out of nowhere, we speak words that we regret, we inadvertently make mistakes. Accidents cause us to recognize our humanity, our need for grace, and at times, our need for forgiveness—from God, from others, from ourselves.
