We are called to accept our children and love them exactly where they are in life, just like Christ loved us.

Romans 15:7

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

We have our children and we all have a desire for them to turn out a certain way: to be model citizens, to be successful in whatever they do, to be kind, compassionate, always thinking of others. But, sometimes, our child chooses a different path for their life. It is not that their path is wrong; it is just different than what we had hoped or dreamed for them. What is our role, as a mom, when this happens? We are called to accept our children and love them exactly where they are in life, just like Christ loved us. No matter where your child is in their life, they still need your love and acceptance. Your child is different than you— a unique and amazing individual. It is sometimes hard to accept our children just the way they are— but we need to...we are called to. Accept all of their idiosyncrasies, annoying habits, and choices and love them through it all.

Father, Thank You for my child. I pray that I will love and accept my child and look past the issues that I see everyday in their life. Father, You love and accept me just the way I am- You didn't expect me to change... You gave love first. I pray that I will model this same type of love. Show me how to love the way You love. Help me push aside my expectations and relax as a mom...giving my child freedom to be who You made them to be.
