Absolute Obedience

Shaun Alexander explains how absolute obedience to Christ shaped his life.

I was talked into playing football in the 2nd grade by my older brother Durran and my best friend Ray Arnold.

Football was fun, but the best part was after every game mom would let us have friends over to spend the night.

Our games where on Saturdays, so Saturday night were party night. My mom had one rule, whoever spent the night on Saturday had to go to church on Sunday.

Easter Sunday, when I was 10 years old, changed my life forever. I remember the singing, dancing, and preaching was amazing. I asked my mom about everything that was happening in the church. She told me, "Everybody is going through something, coming out of something, or preparing for something, and they are all thankful that Jesus is in control."

I told her I want to know this Jesus. I joined the church, gave my life to Christ, and said my first prayer, "Lord I don't know much, but I do know how to be obedient."

That set me on the course to be who I am today.

Learning and growing everyday, and being obedient to what I know now. God bless all of you who read this, and start your absolute obedience today.
