A Woman of Faith

Let your faith to move the mountains be in the one who created them. There is no other way!

Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (Matthew 15:28 NIV)

Usually, when I say "Woman" it is not in a positive tone. (I get in trouble for this sometimes, too!) Jesus was being very positive. He was pleased with such great faith.

The woman had come to Jesus in desperate attempt to provide relief for her daughter. The girl was demon-possessed. How determined would you have been to get Jesus attention? The disciples urged Jesus to send her away. They considered her a pest. She was, instead, in this writer's opinion, a loving mother.

Jesus explained that He had come first for the Jew. The day for the Gentile would come at a later time. I believe Jesus was testing her faith. She won out, not by badgering Jesus, but by insisting and trusting that He was the only one she could turn to. If her daughter was to be healed, Jesus would have to be the one to do the healing. Jesus would and will respond to this type of faith!

Our objective today should be to develop the faith that says, if it is to be completed today, it is up to you Jesus! My faith to move the mountains is in the one who created them. There is no other way!

That is the kind of faith that gets Heaven into motion and produces results.....that very hour!

What does the next hour look like to you?
