A Pupil and the Teacher

Description
Jesus set a high standard for the person who disciples and teaches others. The goal is to make the student just like his teacher. The assumption is: whatever the teacher or discipler is, should be what the pupil will become. Wonderfully that is the goal of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit that we should be like Jesus Christ.
"A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher. (Luke 6:40)
So as a learner we need to realize that information is just a tool to become a certain kind of person. As a teacher we must pay attention to who we are because that is the goal for the student. Learning is more than information, it is a lifestyle for student and teacher.
So concern has to be not over what we are learning but over what we are becoming. The becoming is a critical issue. Are we becoming more Christlike, more like Jesus, more compassionate, more truthful, or are we just learning information about such things?
