A Path to Restoring Trust

As men and women who want to lead like Jesus, how should we handle our failures? How can we regain trust with those we've disappointed?

As men and women who want to lead like Jesus, how do we handle our mistakes? We consistently and humbly seek God's evaluation of our words and actions. We recommit to living according to His Word and by humble dependence on His Spirit. We personally acknowledge our responsibility to those who have been impacted by our wrong choices and ask for their forgiveness. We do what is needed to restore trust. As we do so, we model humility and build renewed trust with others.

Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Blessed is the one who always trembles before God, but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.—Proverbs 28:13-14

Prayer: Lord, thank You for providing a way forward for us when we fail as leaders. Keep our hearts soft before You. Lead us to build and restore trusting relationships with others. We pray in Jesus' name, amen.
