A God-Perspective

Faith is not in the optional category; it is in the necessary category. Those who walk by faith do everything based on a God-perspective.

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV®)

Without faith it is impossible to please God.

That’s about as straightforward as it can be. Without faith, you will not please God! You can’t be kind enough, good enough, moral enough, generous enough. You can’t serve enough, volunteer enough. You can’t sit in church enough, teach enough classes, or read your Bible enough. Faith is not in the optional category; it is in the necessary category. So what does it mean to have faith? People of faith make life choices based on a God-perspective. We do business with a God-perspective. We conduct our relationships with a God-perspective. We interact in our marriage with a God-perspective. And faith is not a static thing. We want to grow in faith every day of our journey as Christ-followers, increasingly making life choices that reflect a God-perspective.

Heavenly Father, I want to please You. Give me increasing faith, Lord, that always puts Your perspective ahead of my own. May my faith in You be obvious, so that all who know me will see that pleasing You is my greatest aim. In Jesus’ name, amen.
