A Big God

Our God is bigger than our imaginations, and yet He works in the lives of men and women.

Revelation 1:8 (NIV®)

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

We serve a God who is bigger than our imaginations, a God who works in the lives of men and women even as He speaks into history. The Bible is the story of God’s interaction with humanity during the time He has allotted to us on the earth, a linear progression from “In the beginning God” to a vision of Jesus’ return. It’s easy to lose a sense of the majesty and magnitude of the God we serve in the midst of our everyday busyness. But He is a big God, and we need Him to help us meet the challenges that face humanity.

Heavenly Father, You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Our imaginations of time cannot describe You or contain You. Thank You that You are at work in the earth, as You always have been and always will be. Help me to fulfill the purposes You have for me during my days in the earth, as I await Jesus’ coming. In His name I pray, amen.
