1 Timothy 2

Description

A tour of 1 Timothy 2 with Ken Boa.

Turning to matters of church worship and leadership, Paul stresses that the men of the church should be leaders in prayer (2:1-8) and that the women should be characterized by inner godliness (2:9-15).

First Timothy is a personal letter, but it is written in an authoritative and exhortative tone because of the specific problems it addresses in light of Timothy’s leadership responsibilities during Paul’s absence from Ephesus.  Since it was written to his trusted and personal associate, it refers to doctrine without developing it, and encourages Timothy to stand firm in the truth. This epistle contains the clearest and most explicit directions for the organization and administration of the church in the Bible.

READING of 1 TIMOTHY 2

Prayer:

Lord, I acknowledge that there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.
