1 Timothy 1
First Timothy is full of specific principles of leadership and holy living, and it is particularly relevant to anyone who is in a position of spiritual influence. This is an extremely practical book that touches on issues of doctrine, public worship, the problem of false teaching, the treatment of various groups within the church, wealth, contentment, and personal integrity.
Paul begins this letter by warning his young associate about the problem of the misuse of the Law of Moses by false teachers (1:3-11). He looks back to his dramatic conversion to Christ and encourages Timothy to fulfill his own God-ordained purpose by fighting the good fight (1:12-20).
