The Ultimate Instruction Manual

Jeff Schreve

Description

The Bible offers great insight on what to do -- and what not to do -- to raise godly kids.

The hospital doesn’t give you a handbook when you bring your child home for the first time. However, you do have access to the ultimate instruction manual to guide you through fatherhood. While you will have to learn what works for you and your children, the Bible will give you the direction you need to be the best dad you can be. Today’s post shares an abundance of wisdom for fathers from a single verse in the Bible.

"God’s Guide to Fatherhood" by Jeff Schreve

Pray
Lord, give me the wisdom and ability to stop doing what exasperates my children, and instead help me to learn how to bring them up in the discipline and knowledge of You.

Reflect
Am I doing what I need to do to produce healthy, happy kids?

Respond
Make a daily commitment to seek parenting advice from Scripture.

God will bless you, your parenting, and your kids when you look to Him for your example of fatherhood. He has given you His personal instruction manual to help guide you on this journey. Today, you heard some dos and don’ts for fathers, including how to speak to your children, how to discipline them, and how to bring them up to know the Lord. The next post will illustrate how your actions and your presence can solidify the lessons you are teaching your kids.
