Marriage is designed to reflect the One who created it.
You probably think your marriage troubles are about the satisfaction you are not receiving. Or the frustration you are experiencing. Or the misunderstanding you constantly have to endure.
But that’s not the real problem. If marriage is about God, then you have to ask a different set of questions:
These are the true marriage problems. Of course, everyone will tell you to strengthen your marriage so you can live a happier life. But if your happiness is your highest goal in marriage, then you’re missing the point, and you’re heading for disappointment.
God made marriage for a reason. Don’t waste your marriage on your own happiness.
Discuss with your spouse: Do you evaluate your marriage solely on the basis of whether or not it makes you happy or fulfilled? What do you think God thinks about your marriage?
