When anxiety, worry, and fear try to steal your peace, it’s hard to not let those very real feelings take over your mind or your body. But you don’t have to live as a slave to your anxiety. You can have peace instead of anxiety -- not on your own or by yourself -- but in God. God’s love is more true than the fear or anxiety you may be facing. Listen to the words of the song in this post and see how trusting in God’s love for you can bring great peace into your life.

How do I respond when anxiety strikes? Do I trust my fears more than I trust God?

Respond

When you feel anxious, trust that God’s love can give you peace. Focus on His character and what you know about His love instead of focusing on your anxiety and worry.

The Wrap Up

It’s easy to let anxiety be our master because it can come on so suddenly and strong. But allowing anxiety to rule us means we are not fully trusting in God’s love for us. This is the first step to overcoming anxiety -- knowing and trusting in God’s love. Something else you can do when anxiety attacks is to stop trying to control your life. The next post will help you learn how to hand control over to God instead.
