The Weapon of Worship

Letting go of the habit of worry is not an easy task. As soon you begin to make headway, the enemy will remind you that you should start worrying again. In this journey of letting go of anxiety and trusting God, you will have some days when the old habit creeps in. But you have a weapon with which to fight this battle! Today, listen to a pastor’s story about overcoming anxiety by using worship and praise as the ultimate weapon.

Believe 3 - I Lift My Hands

00:00

Pray

Jesus, I lift my hands in praise. You are the redeemer of all things. Your love gives me strength; Your presence gives me peace. I will worship you in my times of worry and anxiety because I know You will take care of me.

Reflect

How can I worship and praise in this situation so I can let go of my anxieties?

Respond

Find a Psalm, a Scripture verse, or a song of worship to memorize. Let that praise surround you; let it run through your head as a constant act of worship. Learn to bring the worship first, and watch how your anxiety wanes in the presence of the Lord.

The Wrap Up

Praise and worship are powerful weapons against worry and anxiety. When you praise and sing of the goodness of God, your mind follows. The more you praise and worship, the less your mind worries. The less your mind worries, the easier it is to have peace, even in the midst of trouble. The next post will conclude this series with a look at how you can finally have peace when you give God your worries.
