Consider the parable Jesus gave in Luke:

“Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes.” (Luke 12:35-37)

Be ready. Keep your lamps burning. Keep your passion ignited for Jesus. Live pleasing to Him. Live with His best in mind. Live knowing you are seen and loved. Let the light of His glory shine through you to overcome the darkness of our world.

One day I sat with deep frustration that I was so easily distracted. My thoughts twisted and turned quickly toward untruths. And honestly, I was addicted to scrolling, swiping, and hitting like and heart on my phone. I knew to my core that this was not God’s best for me. So I prayed…

Jesus, if You could just walk into this room right now and show me your face. I just know that if you walked right in here, there is now way on earth I could ever be distracted again. Show me Your glory! Will you walk into this room right now?!

Doesn’t that sound like the craziest, most audacious thing to beg of God?

I wish I could tell you the Lord heeded my begging. But, He didn’t. I know He could. I know He calls us to seek His face. I also think God chose to refrain from my prayer because that’s how we do things: slow and steady. That’s how we roll.

So until that day I get to see Jesus face to face whether in a vision, in heaven, or riding on a white horse as our Faithful and True (Revelation 19:11), I will keep my lamp burning in this vibrant life I call revival ready.

By way of finishing our time together, will you consider this list and these final prayer points with me?

We don’t know when Jesus will return. But, the call here is to be ready with our lives reflecting His glory. Being ready means we are found…

-- Worshipping no other idol but God Almighty

-- Loving our neighbors as ourselves

-- Serving our community in the name of Jesus

-- Walking in daily repentance

-- Living as one loved. The scarcity mindset has no place in the Kingdom of God

-- Offering forgiveness freely

-- Doling out mercy in abundance

-- Standing for justice…holy justice

-- Seeking His face…drawing near because He promises He will be found.

-- Arming yourself with the Word, the bread of Life

-- Grounding yourself in prayer

-- Going low in humility

-- Accepting His perfect Shalom-Peace

-- Stepping out in faith

-- Gathering heart knowledge of the character of God

-- Meeting in deep fellowship with other lovers of Jesus

-- Letting the light of His glory shine in and illuminate every square inch of your life

-- Never forgetting Jesus’ death on the cross

-- Never taking for granted His victory over sin and death. He Is RISEN!

Prayer Points Reminder Guide

Your time of focused prayer for your city, state, nation and beyond doesn’t have to end here at our 7 days. Go ahead and use this quick reminder guide of 2 Chronicles 7:14 to spur you into even deeper conversation with the Lord in prayer. Remember, you are neither helpless or hopeless even when it seems the days get darker and more difficult.

Your Good Father hears the prayers of His daughters. Lean in. Let Him speak grace and truth over you.

“…if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Called: Lord, I worship You alone…

Humble: Lord, show me Your glory and goodness…

Seek His Face: Lord, here I am drawing near. Give me a heart for You alone…

Turn: Forgive me God! I will turn toward You and Your best  instead of my sin…
