Worship is hard to define. It’s what we do in church, but it’s also more than what we do in church. It’s what we do when we sing of God’s greatness, but it is more than just a song. Worship is not about us; it’s about our response to God. But more than anything, worship is about God -- who He is and what He does. Worship is a spiritual discipline because when you worship God, you develop an attitude of reverence towards your Creator. Today, learn how to define worship so you can more easily incorporate it into your spiritual growth.

Oh Lord, You are indeed holy and wonderful! I am always amazed by Your pursuit of me, and I am overwhelmed by Your love and grace. Today, I worship You because You are my God and Savior.
Do I practice personal worship of God on a daily basis?
Worship comes from the revelation of God in your life. To prepare your heart for a discipline of worship, keep a journal of how God reveals Himself to you each day.
Although sometimes worship is a corporate activity done at church, it is also personal. No one can worship for you. No one can make you do it. Since God is a personal God, your worship will look different than someone else’s worship. So the next question is, why does God want your worship? In the next post, see why God wants your worship and how you can develop this important spiritual discipline.
