READ: Micah 5:2-5a
Micah was a minor prophet in the Old Testament. He was a minor prophet because his book was smaller than some of the others, not because he wasn’t important! As we discussed yesterday, prophecies are promises from God. In today’s reading, Micah prophecies that Jesus will be born in Bethlehem and that He will be great! (And bring peace!) This prophecy reminds us that God is very detailed. Bethlehem means “House of Bread.” Read John 6:35. What does Jesus say? Jesus was born in the “House of Bread” and is the “Bread of Life.” God cares about every little detail, and His plan is perfect.
