There are only two possible outcomes to the upcoming election. Either the candidate you want to win does. Or they don't. The question today is about the kind of difference that will make to you individually.
There are things you can control and things you can't. The famous serenity prayer says, "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference."
The Bible is full of characters who maintained their godliness despite being under unfavorable rule. In some cases, they even proved to be a blessing to those rulers. Today, we learn whether our candidate wins or loses, we can still have an impact for Christ.
"Does It Make a Difference Who Wins the Election?" by Ron Blue
Pray
Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours be done.
Reflect
Joseph and Daniel are two characters who thrived, even when they served under rulers who weren't always God-fearing. If God could use them way back when, consider what He can do now.
Respond
Don't let the outcome of an election cause you to sacrifice who God has called you to be. You are still salt and light, whether your candidate wins or loses. We all still live, move and have our being because of the grace of God.
As we near the end of our Growth Plan, we invite you to take a moment to reflect on our country and the country we're all ultimately citizens of, as Amanda Lindsey Cook sings.
