The Lord's Word Prevails

Sometimes, we actually believe the hype. The candidate running for the highest office in the land promises new jobs, lower taxes, the safe pursuit of truth, justice and the American way, while there will be dire dystopian consequences if we vote for the opposition. And slick advertising sways our minds and makes us believe that it will be so.

But we should know better. Only God has the power to keep His every promise. God has the last word.

Today, we get to eavesdrop on what the Lord might say to whoever will inherit the Oval Office.

"What Would Jesus Say to the Next President?" by Joe Cameneti

Pray

Lord, no matter who wins this election, You have the power to direct their steps like a waterway, wherever You please. Help us to recognize that You are the Ultimate Authority. In Jesus' Name.

Reflect

If God can humble the mightiest king of the mightiest empire, as He did with Nebuchadnezzar, isn't He — and not some lowly president — the One Who truly has all power in Heaven and Earth?

Respond

Peter says we should commit ourselves to our faithful Creator and continue to do good, no matter who is in earthly power. (1 Peter 4:19)

In our next post, Lysa TerKeurst gives us words of wisdom on why we need not fear the outcome of the election.
