When you turn to God as your first option when you face problems, He can help you. He will give you peace and wisdom. He can guide your steps and help you see the way. It’s important to call on Him first. God shouldn’t be your back-up plan. You must set yourself to seek Him first, then learn to wait on Him while you endure hard situations. He will never let you down, and He will help you regain your strength. This post will show you how to put prayer first.
BayC - Prayers of Deliverance 1
Psalm 56:3
Jesus, You are not my back-up plan. I turn to You first because I know that only You can rescue me in my time of need.
Is God my back-up plan, or do I turn to Him first in every situation?
Like Jehoshaphat, go to God first, as soon as bad news or a tough situation makes itself known to you.
When you are in the midst of a challenging time, seeking God is the first (and best) thing to do. He cares for you, and He wants what is good for you—and He also wants to help you through this. You can learn from and practice Jehoshaphat’s example of prayer in a difficult situation. Also, notice that he doesn’t just ask for a way out—he seeks God’s will. This is also a good lesson to learn. Seeking God’s will in your situation (instead of just looking for a way out) will help you grow while you deal with it. The next post dives a little deeper into this concept.
