The Futility of Worry

Are you a worrier? Do you fret about things that may or may not happen? Worrying about circumstances and situations is a symptom of not really trusting God with your life. Being a godly woman means you fully trust that God’s will and desire for you are the best things for your life. This reflects the maturity of your faith. Today’s post takes a look at why you should stop fretting over the details of your life and instead allow God to take care of them in His way.

RE 2 - Filling Your Mind with God's Word Edit

00:00

Pray

God, I know that You are in control of all my circumstances, and I know that You have the best intentions for me in my current situation. Help me to trust You more so that I can grow in my faith and experience Your provision.

Reflect

How does my worry make my situation better? How does it show my lack of trust in God?

Respond

Find a verse or two in Scripture that gives you comfort and shows you God’s provision. The next time you worry, refer to this verse. Let go of your worry so you can lean on God.

The Wrap Up

It is hard not to worry when you focus on the things of the world. But focusing on God will help you let go of worry and learn how to trust Him more. When you are anxious, you can take those feelings to God instead of acting on them. In doing so, you exercise obedience and maturity, which leads to godliness. It is a daily struggle to become more like the woman God wants you to be, and there always seems to be something to work on. There are additional characteristics that can draw you away from becoming a godly woman, and our next post, will explore one of them: the destructive habit of self-pity.
