Your time in the Word is the most important thing you will do all day. Reading Scripture will inspire you, challenge you, sharpen you, and fill you. The more you do it, the more you will want to do it. The more time you spend in the Living Word, the deeper you’ll go—you’ll hear from God in new and exciting ways you never thought possible. You can read the same book of the Bible, and by applying different study methods, you will learn new things each time about God and about yourself. It all begins with sitting down and studying the Bible every day. This post gives you five methods for studying Scripture that will help you get a fresh perspective on the Word.
"5 Ways to Study Your Bible" by Carmen Miller
As Believers, we all know that Bible Studying time (also known as, quiet time with Abba) is one of the most important times of the day.
Over the past few years I have changed up how I study to get a more in-depth study, or if I was in a hurry; just enough fuel to keep me running through the day. It's not about how much your in your word, rather how much word is in you. There is a difference between reading the Bible and studying [meditating on the Word] the Bible, and then actually living it out; applying it to your daily life.
Today, I want to share with you the different methods of Bible studying that I have used, and some have been shared with me. Some worked for me, and others didn't, but that doesn't mean they won't work for you.
1. S.O.A.P. Method (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer):
2. Ignatian Method:
3. The PR3 Method: (Pray, Read, Reflect, Respond):
4. The F.I.R.E. Study: (Fact, Insight, Response, Evaluation):
5. Inductive Bible Study:

John 5:39
Father, I know my time with You is the most important part of my day. Help me get the most out of the time I spend with You in the Word.
How seriously do I take my time in the Word?
Use one or more of the study methods listed in this post to help you get more out of reading and studying the Bible.
These study methods are useful for helping to shape your time in the Word. You can follow any of the five methods and learn something new, even if you are reading the same passages or books. Adopt any of these methods to help you have a deeper understanding of Scripture that you can personally apply to your life. Then if you want to develop more focus or see where God is teaching or leading you, you can write what you learn about God or yourself in a notebook or journal, as the next post describes.
