Increasing Your Generosity
Your Generosity is a Gauge of Your Trust in God's Provision

Being generous is usually about more than just giving money to a need. Your level of generosity can be a gauge to help you determine how much influence your money might have on you. It can also be a gauge that indicates your level of trust in God. Do you really believe that God will replenish what you generously give? Or are you being deceived into thinking that your life will be less if you have less money in your pocket? This post will help you tell if you are using your money as an idol or as a tool of worship.

"Giving Money God’s Way" by Mark Jeske

Read
Proverbs 11:24-25

Pray
Your Word says that a generous person will prosper, and that a stingy one will wither. I don’t want to be the stingy one; help me see where You want me to be generous, and help me trust that You will make my generosity prosper.

Reflect
Is my money an idol, or do I really trust God with it?

Respond
If your financial stability is an idol to you, you will never see how being generous will give you more in life. Let go of that thinking, and trust that God will replenish what you generously give—whether it’s time, talent, or money.

In God’s economy, it’s the generous who prosper and the stingy who wither. When we are generous with everything that God has given us, then we are blessed. We are blessed by giving, and we share God’s blessings with others making them praise Him. The key is trusting in God to be your provider. When you trust Him, He will enable your generosity. The last post in our Growth Plan will help you find ways to increase your generosity.
