What motivates your generosity? Are you generous out of guilt? Responsibility? Or are you generous because of God’s grace? God is an amazing example of generosity. His love for us is unconditional. His provision for us is eternal, and His grace far exceeds what we deserve. If your generosity is motivated by anything other than the example of God’s love for us, it might be time to rethink your giving. If you give out of your own means or ability, you are missing the greatest lesson about generosity—the lesson of God’s grace. In this message, you will learn how responding to God’s generosity helps make you a cheerful and generous giver.

Philippians 4:19
Pray
Jesus, how You have loved me! So much that You gave Your life for me. So much that You bless me when I follow You. Let me respond to Your generosity by being generous to others whenever the need arises.
Reflect
How do I respond to the love of God?
Respond
Meditate on the goodness of God. Think about how He has shown Himself to be trustworthy, generous, and loving. Then respond to Him in the way He has shown Himself to you by being generous to others.
God is so good, giving us every resource we need. We should respond to His love for us by generously giving to others as He shows us where it’s needed. Those who do give generously are promised an abundant harvest—and in God’s terms, that means bountiful blessings. There are many places in the Bible where God promises good things to those who are generous, and the next post discusses some of those promises.
