If your confidence doesn’t come from the world, then it needs to come from your belief in God’s power within you. It doesn’t come from your job, your friends, your appearance, or your possessions. There is nothing external that can give you self-confidence—it is only temporal and will change with the wind. The only thing you can count on is having confidence in God and who you are in Him. This post will show you that when you hang on to God, you will have everything you need.
"Self Confidence: God-Given" by Joyce Meyer
Read
1 John 4:4
Pray
Oh Father, I just want to hang on to You! I don’t want to care what the world says. I’m tired of listening to my own negative self-talk. Remind me each day of what You think of me, and help me to raise my self-esteem with Your truth.
Reflect
Do I really have confidence in God’s power in me?
Respond
Let go of any external gauge of your self-worth and concentrate on God’s power within you.
Let go of worrying about how others see you. Stop trying to find your value in your job, or your position, or your possessions. The only thing you have that will permanently boost your self-esteem is your confidence in God and who you are in Him. Hang on to that—even when those old issues arise (because they will). The next post will help you deal with the old wounds of poor self-esteem.
