If you want to understand your mate, then you probably need to go back to the beginning with Adam and Eve. God created man. He gave man a job, and then He gave man a woman. God created Eve from Adam’s rib because it wasn’t good for man to be alone. In today’s post, Jeff Schreve explores the differences God gave to men and women—right down to the way He created them. If you’ll begin here, you’ll see that each sex has a different perspective—and that each is complementary to the other.

Pray
God, You created each of us uniquely, as only You could. As we go through this Growth Plan, help us learn how to understand one another.
Reflect
What are the differences God created in each of us? Are we letting these differences help or hinder our relationship?
Respond
Read Genesis 2 together, and note the differences in how God created Adam and Eve. As you discuss them, see if they apply to your relationship.
Understanding how uniquely God made men and women will help you begin to grasp the huge differences in the way each deals with communication, relationships, stress, and life in general. The most important thing to remember is that God made each of you the way you are for a reason. He also brought you together for a reason. In fact, the next post will look more closely at how God uses our unique characteristics to complement one another.
